recently i accidentally left myself logged in at my friend's house.  she thought it would be funny to join a bunch of communities and see if i noticed.  well, i did.  so if any of you noticed that i joined furry fandom or other weird groups, that wasn't me, lol.

I have started a blog to chronicle the travesties I have to endure from Dell.  Feel free to spread the link - in fact, please do.  People need to know what they're in for when they choose Dell.

From now on I'll be posting recipes here, at [info]andrewskitchen rather than in this journal.  Erik's brother thought we should start a food blog to keep track of recipes and I thought it was a great idea.  (He has cerebral palsy so I'll be doing the typing, but he gives me input on what we should add.  He chose the layout and made sure I put an "eggs suck" disclaimer in the userinfo, for instance.)  Past recipes can be found there as well (with credit to the source).  Feel free to add us and contribute with your own recipes - Andrew would be happy to see people subscribing.  :-)

([info]wldrose, [info]melissaandco, and [info]tamaracat: I put your recipes in there!)

Cheese Chicken

A game to play at the Olive Garden, by Jay Barnes

Step 1: Go to the Olive Garden with a friend or friends, and order your meal as you normally do. At the Olive Garden, you get to choose whether or not you would like soup or salad. Cheese chicken requires that everyone order salad.

Step 2: When the waitstaff brings the salad over in a large bowl, they will ask you if you want freshly grated cheese on it. You will say that you do, at which point they will begin to grate cheese on the salad, and inform you to ’say when’ when you would like them to stop grating the cheese.

THIS IS WHERE THE CHEESE CHICKEN GAME BEGINS
The game:

Whoever says ‘when’ first, loses. The wait staff may panic or cry, but do not falter or you will be the loser.
The Consequences for losing:

The loser of Cheese Chicken shall be bludgeoned about the head with (1) Olive Garden bread stick.
Caveats:

If the waiter or waitress starts to freak out and says something to the effect of ‘Are you sure you want this much cheese?’, respond by yelling “HOSPITALIANO!” while pointing to the salad angrily.

And as he spoke, he spoke ordinary words
Although they did not feel
For I felt what I had not felt before
You'd swear those words could heal.
And as I looked up into those eyes
His vision borrows mine.
And to know he's no stranger,
For I feel I've held him for all of time.

And he said take my hand,
Live while you can
Don't you see your dreams lie right in the palm of your hand
In the palm of your hand.

Just a boy,
Just an ordinary boy.
But he was looking to the sky.

Blingo

A few weeks ago I signed up for Blingo. It is a search engine powered by google, and it's for all intensive purposes identical except for the fact that you can win prizes. All you have to do is sign up and use the search engine, and if you search at the right time of day you'll win a prize.

If a friend you refer wins, you win a prize too! They give away iPod shuffles, movie tickets, free Blockbuster rentals, and more. Two of the people on my friends list have already won. Ivy and Anika even got $25 Visa gift cards!

So sign up. It doesn't take any extra effort after the initial sign-up (which is very quick) and the chances of someone winning if they use it as the default search engine have to be pretty decent if people I know have won more than once.
